Thank you

I just wanted to send a quick thank you to all of you who commented on my last post.  I had chest pains last night and this morning because I was so stressed out about the situation with my family.  Every few hours, another email would pop up and it was more words of encouragement from all of you.  Slowly, I felt more at peace with the choices I made and I felt so much better.  I really can't thank you enough for being the family that my "real" family just can't seem to be for me.

I have just caught up with a couple of your posts and must say how I really feel for you in your position right now. I don't blame you for taking a step back and at the end of the day you are not responsible for your sister. IF the little girl is seriously in pain, then that's not your responsibility either. I am sad your mom put you in this position too and my first thought was "why couldn't she help out?" but then you explained the other debts. An "addict" of any sort will always stoop to low levels for money (my ex was an alcoholic) and you can only be supportive to an extent. You have been supportive this far and now you have your own little family to focus on. Don't let this get you down too much, we all have the odd family fallout but I think you've done enough over the years, I just feel bad that another family member put you in that position.

Concentrate on your beautiful little boy - that's far more important. :)

Oh, I like the new look of your blog! :-)

I read your post about your situation with your mom & sister on my iPhone Saturday night but couldn't post a comment (for various reasons). I am sorry that you are having to deal with that craziness but think you have handled the situation correctly, for what it's worth. There comes a point when helping is enabling, and I think you're smart not to go there with your sister.

Take care, and be kind to yourself.
